Adopt a Dog
We are always looking to place some of our older sled dog companions with owners who would like a gentle loving canine. Occasionally we also have younger dogs looking for a career change. Our Alaskan Huskies tend to live long active lives. We have several 11- and 12 year old dogs still doing great pulling trips. It is not uncommon for them to live to be 12-14 years old. If you are interested in expanding your family and would like to adopt a dog please see the below list of dogs who are currently available for adoption. Contact us if you are looking for a particular type of dog (age, sex, etc) who may not be listed here. Adoption Dog One: Feather
Feather is a 9 year old spayed all white female. She is steady and peaceful. Shy for the first minute, and then ready to be your best friend. Mild temperment and quiet. Would be good with kids. Downside? She's hard to see in a snowstorm.
Adoption Dog Two: Rafiki
Rafiki is an 8 year old female. Rafiki comes from The Lion King litter. This swahali name translates to "friendship", and you're guaranteed unconditional love from this gentle personable dog. She has had a full racing career, has led a team to the Iditarod finish, and has since spent two season leading trips here. She says it's time to make more new friends and settle in to a nice retirement. Smart, attentive, quiet and undeniably loveable, she would be excellent with kids or other dogs. She balances soaking up the attention with contented naps. She's still up for regular walks, but won't demand marathon workouts to stay happy. Rafiki is a dream adoption waiting to happen.
Adoption Dog Three: Pirate
Pirate is a 3 year old male. He is very people friendly and sociable. Submissive with other dogs. Weighs in around 50 pounds. A tiny bit shy in new settings. Mellow, mellow, mellow. (Maybe too mellow to make a professional career out of pulling sleds.) Only thing he'll steal is your heart. Sorry, no parrot included.
Adoption Dog Four: Net
Net is a 5 year old female. Sweet temperment, quiet and smart enough to pose with crossed paws when getting her picture taken. What more could you ask for? All black coat. On the smaller side at 40lbs, she won't eat you out of house and home.
