Custom Trips

We specialize in custom trips for your special group --- family, friends, school groups, scout troups and more. If you have a group of 4 or more, we can design a private trip for your group. The occasion may be as varied as family reunions, anniversaries, holiday presents, class projects, winter ecology seminars, professional group outings and so on.

Book a scheduled trip exclusively for your crew, or talk with us about tailoring a dogsled experience. These custom trips insure you get the full attention of our guides and the trip is designed around your goals, schedule and expectations. We use our standard programs for a guideline, then discuss what it is that you want on the trip. Are your lodging tastes rustic or refined? Itching for hearty adventure packed days, or including a low key half day tour for the more timid in your group? Want to include other activities during your time in the northwoods? See Winter in Ely for  a host of options to extend your trip.) These factors and more go in to creating a rewarding custom trip.

For pricing estimates, or to build your trip from the ground up, see our Ala Carte Offerings. For groups of six or more adults, receive $50 off per person. For groups of ten or more, the coordinator receives their trip free. Please contact us with a few dates in mind.

For non-profit educational groups, please see our group programs section.

Group Programs

White Wilderness works with several non-profit and educational groups throughout the season to deliver customized programs. We have the ability to work with groups from 5 to 25 and can offer programs tailored to specific group interests. Day trips, yurt trips and camping expeditions are all within the realm of possibilities.

Previous groups have included Elderhostel, The International Wolf Center, Adventures in Good Company, Lawrence Academy as well as several scouting programs and colleges; Macalester College, Edgewood College and Vermillion Community College.

An Educational Presentation is available to include with any group program. This interpretive color presentation covers the history of dogsledding, includes an overview of the basics, as well as general sled dog care and training. This is a good program to include prior to your participants' dogsledding experience, as it will answer many of their questions and is a good introduction to this winter activity. This presentation, delivered by Peter or one of our guides, is approximately one hour in length.

Please contact us to discuss program design, group rates and availability.
