Step One:
Decide between Premier and Traditional style:
PREMIER STYLE: On each of our Premier Trips, every participant drives their own solo sled with a team of four to six Alaskan huskies. There is no passenger in the sled. This format allows us to run farther and faster than on most trips. Solo sleds enhance your experience by giving you more time on the runners to improve your skills, and more time to spend with your team of dogs. A great trip for those who are physically active (or make a lousy backseat driver), and want front row action and adventure. You do not need to have had previous experience.
TRADITIONAL STYLE: Traditional trips are run with two people per team of dogs. For good control of the sled and quick steering response, one person drives the team while the other rides inside the sled. Switching between positions as many times as desired allows for plenty driving time and plenty of time to take it easy. You will either share the sled with a your partner or a guide. An excellent choice for families, individuals who want to ease into mushing or those who may not have the stamina for a full day of standing on the runners. Traditional style trips are also more economical for multiple travelers.
