2017 – January 31st – February 4th
An Outdoor Adventure of A Lifetime!
Join Tom Lynn Photography and White Wilderness Sled Dog Adventures for an unforgettable 4-night photography workshop and dogsled adventure in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters. Learn why the Boundary Waters is listed on National Geographic’s 50 places to visit in your lifetime
This exciting trip will combine dog sledding through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area with your love of photography.
Our dog teams will lead us through winding trails, forests and over frozen lakes as we explore and photograph this
remote wilderness in winter solitude
Photography Workshop Adventure
Learn outdoor photography skills and create a portfolio of images directed by Tom Lynn, a Pulitzer Prize nominee with more than 30 years of experience photographing a wide range of subjects. From documenting the life of a fisherman in Alaska to Whooping Cranes in Canada’s Northwest Territories, Tom’s images have been published in numerous magazines including Audubon, Smithsonian, National Geographic and Sports Illustrated.
For this workshop we will be teaming up with White Wilderness Sled Dog Adventures based in Ely, MN and owned by Peter McClelland. Peter has been showing visitors the wonders of the Boundary Waters for more than 20 years.
Spend each day mushing and working on photo shoots along the trail while enjoying savory meals and comfortable Northwoods lodge accommodations at night. Relax by the fireplace in the evening while editing the day’s photos. In addition to our mushing experience we also plan a winter hike into a beautiful waterfall and a visit to the International Wolf Center in Ely. The trip overlaps with the start of the Ely Winter Festival – a cornucopia of winter events, art walk and snow sculptures. This all inclusive trip is an opportunity for a maximum of 8 guests.
4 nights includes 3 days of dogsledding with a visit to Ely and the International Wolf Center on the 4th day.
$1995, all-inclusive package rate, per adult in double rooms, single rooms $180 more when available.
